The Lou Costello Sportsmen Club, Inc. is a Paterson, NJ based program which has served the Passaic County youth since 1975. We are a non-profit corporation dedicated to educating our athlete members ages 8 to 18 in amateur Olympic style boxing in a safe and structured environment, and to preventing drug and alcohol use by providing substance abuse prevention education to our members.
The Lou Costello Sportsmen Club is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Corporation and a registered member of US Boxing Inc., as are all coaches and athlete members. We offer a viable alternative to the drug and alcohol culture, and related delinquencies due to substance abuse.
Activities
- 65% of the time is spent on instruction and education in amateur Olympic style boxing techniques through exercise, videos, didactic lectures and clinics provided by boxing officials, coaches and experienced boxers.
- 25% of the time is spent on instruction on substance abuse prevention and nutrition by substance abuse experts, health care providers, nutritionists, videos, didactic lectures and clinics.
- 10% of the time is spent on travel to local, regional and national competition events.
Hours
Hours of operation, at a minimum, are Monday through Friday 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
